For over seven years, Innovation Youth has been doing collective kitchens with its youth. We choose recipes, prepare food and enjoy meal times together. Innovation Youth believes that good eating habits and community meal times are a huge part of helping kids move towards autonomy, healthy adult lives and success at school. This year we’ve been hosting two collective cooking groups with families from the neighbourhood, as well as a youth community kitchen twice a month with kids from Opération Placement Jeunesse. We’re proud of this group- they are entirely in charge of choosing recipes and of organizing the grocery lists. Team work can be a challenge in the kitchen, but they’re learning a lot and producing some fantastic meals! Check out this wonderful partner organization: http://www.opj.ca.
