Recipe of the week from our collective kitchen

The days are cold, so it’s a great season to make some soup!

Last week our collective kitchen made Saudi soup (Shorba). Try it!

Onion – 1 chopped
Garlic – 1 clove chopped
Tomatoes – 1 chopped
Cumin seeds – 1 tspn
Oats – 1/2 cup
Chicken – 3 small pieces chopped
Pepper Powder – 1/2 tspn
Salt to taste
Water – 4 cups
Magi Chicken Cubes – 1
Vegetable Oil – 2 tspn
Coriander leaves – few


1- Heat a skillet or pan and add vegetable oil, onions and garlic. Saute well.

2- Add chopped chicken pieces, chopped tomatoes, cumin seeds, oats, water. Stir well and bring this to boil and then cover the pressure cooker and reduce heat to simmer and cook for 5 minutes

3- After 5 minutes check whether chicken is tender and the oats have turned mushy. Add salt, chicken cubes, pepper powder and cook for 3 more minutes.

4- After 3 minutes switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
